Art Collecting: Investment & Joy

Buying art is often influenced by changing preferences while collecting art is thought to be a purposeful commitment. Is it possible to have them converge? What are the core motivations of collecting and how do you get started on one of the most rewarding and exciting investment vehicles?

Panellists
Amelia Abdullahsani is an art advisor, curator, and educator. Her curated exhibitions have received rave critical reviews in The New York Times, Vogue, and Artforum.

Othniel Jai Prakash is Senior Business Manager at Phillips Auctioneers where he manages the Art, Watches, and Jewellery departments in Asia. He has begun to actively collect emerging contemporary art from Singapore and the region.

Moderator
Genevieve Chua is a painter who works primarily through abstraction and has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions around the world. In 2012, she was conferred the prestigious Young Artist Award by the National Arts Council and is currently based in Singapore.

The event will begin with a whisky tasting of all the Mortlach variants 12/16/20. Please drink responsibly.
