Beyond Everest – Women and Children, The Forgotten

By January 2, 2019 No Comments
Nepal is famed for its cultural richness and mountainous peaks. Yet, behind this grandeur is a dark, troubling industry – one that exploits women and the youngest of the country’s population. They are sold into slave labour and forced into prostitution, inflicting severe mental distress on them, if they do survive.

What can be done to ameliorate their vulnerability? How can survivors of such trauma receive better care in rehabilitation? When will female allied professionals finally be empowered to shape and transform the medical system?
