Blame it on the Boogie screening x REWIND

By January 2, 2019 No Comments
Call it a cult, call it passion – for more than 1,000 consecutive Wednesdays till 2012, Mambo nights spawned a clubbing phenomenon in Singapore the world had never witnessed. It was arguably a coming-of-age ritual for virgin partygoers, celebrated by generations. Directed by local musician Dave Tan, Blame it on the Boogie is a film to immortalise the legendary party. Join the post-screening revelry in The Double, as DJ Aldrin takes us back to the ‘80s with the greatest hits.

Dave Tan is a singer and frontman of Singapore’s rock trio Electrico. He was inspired to create this film after getting bumped off the dance podium at Mambo night.

DJ Aldrin is the Director of Music at 1880. For 17 years he was the music ambassador of Zouk, where Mambo nights happened.
