Combatting Forced Labour and Modern Slavery

By November 23, 2021 No Comments
Across Southeast Asia, workers fall prey to exploitative recruiters and employers who operate with few consequences. Millions of workers are vulnerable not because protective laws don’t exist but because they’re not enforced.

International Justice Mission’s goal is to protect people in poverty from violence by rescuing victims, bringing the criminals to justice, restoring survivors to safety and strength, and supporting government partners to build a safe future.

Christa Hayden Sharpe is the Regional President, Asia Pacific at International Justice Mission. Christa and the regional team combat the online sexual exploitation of children in the Philippines and forced labour in Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, and Malaysia.

Moderated by Christine Amour-Levar, 1880 Member and Founder of Women on a Mission and HER Planet Earth.
