― You Yenn Teo, This Is What Inequality Looks Like
This tour around the Jalan Kukoh neighborhood across from Robertson Quay will explore some of the themes found in Teo You Yenn’s book, This Is What Inequality Looks Like. We will discuss the role of volunteering and its limits in the “many helping hands” approach advocated by the Government. The walkabout will conclude with some thoughts about how individuals can go beyond lip service and do their bit to combat social inequality.
ReadAble is a community of passionate people who believe beating poverty one word at a time. ReadAble has been running weekly reading and language arts classes for children ages 2 to 15 in the Jalan Kukoh neighborhood.
