Jens Ritter’s Sleeping Beauties

Dubbed “the fusion of Stradivarius and Picasso,” Jens Ritter crafts deactivated electric guitars into works of art. His masterpieces have been collected by major museums like the MET and the Smithsonian, and by icons like Prince and Lady Gaga.

In a rare public exhibition of his work, 1880 will be displaying Jens’ Sleeping Beauties: a series of deactivated electric guitars sealed and put to “sleep” for future generations. At the grand opening, meet Jens and hear him delve into the relationship between art, music, human emotion, and AI.
