Peacebuilding

16 July 2024 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm SMT

In today’s troubled world, building peace is humanity’s greatest responsibility and these individuals have been tackling some of the most complex conflicts.
What are their roles in negotiating ceasefires, humanitarian access, and restoring peace in conflicts in Asia, the Middle East, and on the global level? How will the next generation shape the future of peacebuilding?

Hear from two women who have been a part of peace-building work in some of the most complex conflicts:
Her Excellency Charlotte Lobe (South African High Commissioner to Singapore)
Wu Ye-Min (Regional Director at the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue)
Iona Jalijali (former Head of Secretariat for the Philippine Government’s Peace Panel)
Natasha Latiff, (International human rights lawyer, and founder of Women for Justice Organisation Afghanistan (WJOA) and Strategic Advocacy for Human Rights (SAHR))

Moderated by Marc Nicholson (Founder, 1880)

Supported by the Nagulendran Philanthropy Alliance, a private philanthropic initiative founded by Singaporeans Dorothy and John to promote a more peaceful world.
