Salon: Get Over yourself, America.

America has been called “the most self-absorbed country on the planet”, and it isn’t even Trump to blame. As a divided America continues to fight an internal battle, the rest of the world moves on. The balance has tipped. No longer does the star-spangled banner reign as the sole superpower of the world. New centres of gravity have emerged. European allies joined the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank opposing US dissuasion, the Trans-Pacific Partnership deal proceeded without the US, the European Union even launched their own military alliance to counter NATO. Could we care less about Trump, or anyone else who comes after?
