Special Screening: Son Rise

“We cannot unsee what we’ve seen.” remarked filmmaker, Vibha Bakshi, as she processed the chaos in Kamathipura, a red-light district in Mumbai notorious for sex trafficking. “We have to do something.” Son Rise, a multi award winning film inspires us to take action. While exposing the darkest corners of gender violence in rural North India, a strongly patriarchal society, the filmmaker finds ordinary men doing the ‘extraordinary’ in the struggle for women’s rights and gender justice.

National Award winning filmmaker Vibha Bakshi and Co-Founder of EmancipAction Laura Entwistle will be in attendance with BBC anchor Sharanjit Leyl moderating the conversation.

Stay for a post-screening reception with wine and canapés
