The Eccentrics

By December 24, 2018 No Comments
Playing tribute to weird and wonderful compositions ranging from medieval through the classical canon to jazz, we’ve invited Music and Makan to curate a one-of-a-kind Saturday evening for you. This live music experience featuring 4 of Singapore’s best classical musicians, will be paired with canapés that are inspired by the works.

As a nod to female empowerment, the string quartet will perform a selection of pieces by Hildegard von Bingen, a German abbess and mystic poet. They will premiere an original jazz composition by David Loke, and move you with the beautiful and complex tunes by Giacomo Puccini, Maurice Ravel and Igor Stravinsky.

$98 includes canapés and wine

Musicians
Yang Shuxiang (Violin 1, President’s Young Performer 2012, pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts at New England Conservatory)
David Loke (Violin 2, Prize-winner of the National Piano and Violin Competition 2015, Masters of Music, Yale School of Music)
Martin Peh (Viola, pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts at Stonybrook University)
