What do you do for a living?
I’m the Founder of Ollie Brands – a new alcohol company based in Singapore that’s currently focused on the sparkling alcohol category (we’re fundraising by the way 🙂 ). I started the entrepreneurship journey in Q4 last year. Before Ollie, I spent my career in consulting (big data, then strategy & investments) before helping to build a new business unit at ByteDance.
What have you been up to lately?
For the business, I’m working on launching tests in two new markets (Shanghai + Manila). Otherwise, I’m reigniting my hobby of competitive ultimate frisbee. I’m part of the SG national team and preparing for a once-every-four-years competition in October.
What do you spend a silly amount of time on?
If I’m not working, I’m probably playing or training for sports. Most of my time is training for Ultimate now, but over the past couple of years I spent a silly amount of time (and money) on surfing/ wake surfing. I also try to play beach volleyball weekly and recently started playing soccer again. I’ve had a million hobbies over the years but staying active is the one that’s stuck most consistently.

Best advice you’ve received?
My mother likes to say “The hard thing and the right thing are usually the same”. I think I’ve found that to be pretty true.
How should someone say hi to you at 1880?
I love it when new introductions ask meaningful questions when first meeting. Things like “What are you most excited for in the next week?”, “What are you feeling passionate about today?” are great ways to kick off getting to know people. Of course, you can always buy me an Ollie as an icebreaker – or buy yourself one, and maybe I’ll come to say hi to you instead!
What kind of members would you like to be connected to at 1880?
I’m always looking for new connections in the alcohol, consumer products, or food and beverage space. I am also looking for potential golf partners – I haven’t played in ages. I have really enjoyed meeting members from all backgrounds at 1880 so, regardless, don’t hesitate to say hey!
